Google Pixel specs, leak: HTC Sailfish and Marlin to run on Qualcomm SD820 2nd revision with Android Nougat 7.1?:(Facebook/HTC)Official press render for the HTC One A9 handset
More leaks about the upcoming highly anticipated handsets from Google, previously dubbed as HTC Nexus Sailfish and Marlin but now referred to as Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, have been spotted doing rounds online. The latest reports, so far, have suggested the possible System on Chip of the handsets.
According to the benchmark result posted on Geekbench, the new handsets are going to be powered by a Qualcomm chipset, specifically the Snapdragon 820.
However, it seems like this version of the SD820 isn't going to be like the ones that were used in other smartphone devices. As reported by GSM Arena, the SoC of Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL will be the second revision of the Snapdragon 820.
The benchmark listing continued to note that its chipset is going to be supported by a fairly massive amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) of 4 GB. The interesting part of the listing, though, is the operating system used during the testing.
It appears like the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL would most likely run on Google's Android Nougat 7.1 version right out of the box.
Meanwhile, the two Google handsets have just recently passed through the Global Certification Forum (GCF). According to Android Headlines, four models of handsets have gone through the process, presumably two for the Google Pixel and the other two for the XL variant. Interestingly enough, the listing has also stated that these phones were made by HTC, thus seemingly confirming the manufacturer behind this year's Google Nexus smartphones.
